Following the Crowd

Okay, so we have multiple websites, even one with a blog and podcast. So why another one? I don't know, maybe free webspace is appealing. I'm not sure how often I can keep this one up, but I'll add the links to my other websites too.

I know this is a boring first entry, but I'm just figuring this site out.

Anyway, here is my Alien head, maybe that will get a laugh.

Yesterday, Monday was crazy. Agnieszka caught the flu that I had Saturday, Ryan had Sunday. It seems most of the Nord extended family also caught this bug. Anyway, the morning started off with me taking the boys to the pool which was nice.

However as afternoon progressed I knew I was in for something BIG!!! First Nathan refused to take a nap, so I decided to run with him and Cole to the market. He fell asleep in the car for the last 2 minutes of the treck there. Of course I had to wake him, though I thought of leaving the AC running in car and let him sleep. * I have a spare key, so I would have locked him in. But then my better parenting judgement kicked in and I wok him up. He was groggy, but perked up quick in the 98 degree heat and the thrill of running through the market tossing strange produce into the cart. The trip ended with his favorite Kinder egg which I swear turned to liquid chocolate the minute we stepped outside. That was a mess to clean before letting both of them in the car.

Then after the market we headed home. Cole took a nap, and it started to rain.....I mean POUR. It was officially a flash flood in my book. Nathan and I went to the porch and to my surpise he dashed out into the rain splashing in all the puddles. He wouldn't come back inside. I had to open the garage to convince him to come in. By this time Agniezka had stumbled upstairs to tell me that water was pouring into the basement. This happened once before so I knew she wasn't kidding. Our dryer vent escapes into our window well. Our neighbors downspout directs all his water right into it so it is just a matter of minutes before there is big problems. Agnieszka took soaking wet Nate inside to change while I battled the water for 20 min. It finally stopped and I went to check on Nate He was fine so i put on a movie and went back to cleaning up the mess. After vaccuming for 30 min or so, I returned upstairs to find Nathan stark naked. His diaper flung off clean. But alas, there was a "present" in the middle of the carpet, along with the wiping being done on the couch. Luckily our couch is always covered with a sheet to keep the dog hair off, but still, poop everywhere. On top of that it looks like a little shower happened all over the couch and floor as well. I was a little amused at this sight, but couldn't let him see it. So I told him he was in trouble and he had to help clean it up. The joys of motherhood.

Finally, Ryan who usually makes it home by 6:30, was not home until 7:30 to learn of my long, hard day. So that made it a little harder. I was so glad when he did come and he could help put the boys to bed.

No words of advice, but boy am I glad to be back to work!!!
